Businesses Now Advertise More Online Than They Do in Print
For years, we've watched as business owners slowly make their way into the realm of online marketing, but for the first time, more money is going into online ads than print ads, and is the scale is expected to continue tipping in the future.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA, January 28, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In 2012, in the United States alone, advertisers are projected to spend nearly 40 billion dollars on online advertising, being the highest figure to date spent on advertising over the internet, and for the first time, surpassing the projected figures for print ads. In the past, the industry relied heavily on print ads to bring in a majority of their business, but now with the digital age in full swing, online advertising has officially become the preferred method by which advertisers spend their budget.

Projected to grow by 23.3% in 2012, US advertisers will spend close to $4 billion this year to market their businesses online, and that number is only expected to rise in the coming years, reaching a projected $62 billion by 2016. In a study recently completed by eMarketer, the amount of money spent on online advertising is slated to rise significantly, while the amount spend on newspaper and magazine ads will continue to drop slightly.

Even more, internet advertising is also projected to catch up to television advertising, closing the gap from $27.3 billion in 2011 to only $10 billion by 2016, totaling an aggressive $62 billion spent by online advertisers in the United States alone. Though television ads will still see a gradual increase in advertising dollars spent, the internet, with its ever-changing trends, will even surpass television advertising before much longer.
